Active Protection
The BMW ConnectedDrive’s occupants are protected by a mechanism called Active Protection. Depending on the speed of the car, a seat belt will automatically buckle you if you are already wearing one. For the passenger’s safety, the seat belt will be automatically tightened and, if necessary, the seat back will be straightened within seconds of coming into an emergency situation while driving. If your vehicle has Approach Control Warning or Approach Control Warning with Light Braking Function, it will alert you before a potential collision with another moving object.
In addition, the automobile will be steered and stopped on the driver’s behalf within seconds of the collision to stop any potential problems from getting worse. By keeping an eye on your driving motion, Attentiveness Assistant reacts quickly to odd circumstances and displays on the Control Display when you need to take a break.
