Over the past several decades, we’ve thrown away 6.3 billion metric tons of plastic waste, of which only about 9% has been recycled, experts say. To combat air pollution and prevent a global catastrophe, we need to do more now to recycle waste.
An artist from England, Richard Sowa, has shown the world a great creative method by transforming 100,000 plastic bottles into a beautiful floating island. Incredibly, a plastic bottle can take 450 years to decompose, making it not only a toxic waste for the environment, but also a very durable construction material.
