Ronaldo has set a new record that is rare in Europe’s top leagues. The Portuguese forward, who was named the ICC World Player of the Year on Sunday, has scored a total of 451 goals in 538 competitive matches in his career. This marks the first time that a player has scored more than 450 goals in Europe’s top five leagues (La Liga, Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1). Ronaldo also holds the record for most goals in a season (96), and has won three Champions League titles with Real Madrid.
