Sony’s new generation PlayStation VR 2 Headset, which will compete with Meta Quest, has unveiled its design.

According to The Verge, this owl employs a black-and-white color palette reminiscent of the PlayStation 5 and has the same board layout as the original PlayStation VR, but with improved lens adjustments and a redesigned vent design. The new PlayStation VR2 comes with PS5 and PS DualSense controllers, and the front and rear control bands of the headgear have been embellished with tiny PlayStation icons.
The concept of making a vent that exhales air from the headgear is the first aspect I want to call attention to. According to senior art director Eugene Morisawa, this is comparable to the air intake ports on the PS5 console. The concept was thought up by our engineers as a fantastic approach to making an air vent. By doing this, gamers can play VR games without experiencing lens blur. Mori Sawa and a group of engineers came up with many design ideas to stop the lenses from overheating while playing video games, and they ultimately chose to add an air vent between the front and top of the lens.
