Minimize Distractions

When working from home, distractions are inevitable. Whether it’s family members, pets, or household chores, there are many things that can pull your attention away from work. The key is to minimize these distractions as much as possible.

Start by setting clear boundaries with people in your household. Let them know when you’re working and when you’ll be available for breaks or social time. Put your phone on silent or in another room, and turn off unnecessary notifications on your computer.

If you find yourself getting distracted by household tasks, try using the two-minute rule: If a task will take less than two minutes (such as making the bed or washing a dish), do it right away. If it will take longer, schedule it for later.
